Cookies and local storage

Last updated: 29 September 2026

In short

SpeakerEZ itself sets no cookies. It stores two things in your browser to make features you use work, and its analytics are cookieless. If adverts are shown, Google may set advertising cookies, and in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland only after Google's consent message has asked you. You can change that choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of each page.

What SpeakerEZ stores in your browser (strictly necessary)

speakerez.prompterlocalStorageYour teleprompter settings (speed, text size, mirror, guide position, preview).Until you clear this site's data
speakerez → draftsIndexedDBUnsaved edits to your notes (and, for PowerPoint files, a copy of the file), so a refresh or crash doesn't lose them.Until you export or discard the draft, or clear this site's data

These never leave your device. They are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they don't need consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations or the EU ePrivacy Directive. To remove them, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Analytics (no cookies)

Plausible Analytics, which we run on our own server (plausible.puntofisso.net), sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. See the privacy policy for what it counts.

Google sign-in and file picker (only if you use them)

If you choose to open a deck from Google Slides or export to it, Google's sign-in window and file picker are shown. They are provided by Google, which sets its own cookies on its domains (such as accounts.google.com) under Google's cookie policy. They are needed for the Google features you choose to use.

Advertising cookies (Google, only when adverts are shown)

Google's full, current list of cookies and their lifetimes is at business.safety.google/adscookies, and how it uses them at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used for personalisation; if you refuse, Google may still show non-personalised adverts using only strictly necessary cookies. Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of each page, or manage adverts at adssettings.google.com.
